Gear to run Worshipsong Band

We all love gear.  This page will help you decide what gear you may want to use with your Worshipsong Band setup.  The gear we recommend is battle-tested by our development team and users, and we specialize in finding the very best and most cost effective means for you to leverage Worshipsong Band and its content in your ministry.

Audio Interfaces

While tracks can be run through the headphone jack, a USB audio interface if going to offer better sound quality, even if you are only running 2 or 4 channels.  These interfaces offer great performance and bang for your buck.

Traktor

The Traktor Audio 2 DJ is a handheld USB interfaces that offers 4 channels for under $100.  It is intended for DJs and offers loud, clear sound on a budget.  Plug it in with a pair of stereo splitters and set up your WSB with 4 channels out.  It can be used at your sound desk or hooked to your mobile device.

For more outputs, try the ESI GigaPort HD+Gigaport.  This interface offers 8 channels of output through stereo RCA (unbalanced) outputs.  It is well suited for use on the sound desk, where you can hook it up via USB to a PC or Mac running your main output.  Since Worshipsong Band offers full control of playback via its wireless network mode, there is no need to string a long snake and expensive direct-boxes to your stage just to have a computer controlling tracks there.  Price ranges from about $120 to $150, depending on where you find it.

Controlling Your Tracks

While you are playing guitar or keys and running tracks, MIDI controllers are a great way to keep the tracks doing what you want.  These MIDI interfaces are cost effective, convenient, and fully compatible with Worshipsing Band:

MIDI

A cost-effective USB MIDI foot switch like the this MeloAudio 10 switch ($160) can be used to control Worshipsong Band functions. It is available from Amazon and other sources.

The Airturn BT200-S series offers both a 4 and a 6 button MIDI controller that operate using Bluetooth over MIDI, combining wireless operation with rugged design and compatibility with both mobile and PC/Mac devices. Prices range from $110 to $130 for the 6 switch version.

Networking the Bandrouter

Any wireless router can be used to enable Worshipsong Band networking.  Routers with wired connections may be used for the master or any position that has access to wired ethernet.  An internet connection is desirable to enable team sharing functions to push content to your production computers from home computers used to do song setup and set editing.
