Worshipsong Band 3.1 Released
Worshipsong Band version 3.1 is now releasing for all platforms: Windows, MacOS, IOS, and Android. For version 3.1, we have added several new features to allow much more dynamic flow of your service with Worshipsong Band. The most innovative of these is a brand new type of multi-layered pad we call Atmospheres. We've teamed with Jeff McCullough (Tree Hill Collective, JumpStart3) to bring the capabilities of his new app Altar the Atmosphere to Worshipsong Band. Atmospheres are designed to be used in altar times, prayer times, before and after services, and anytime your service calls for unstructured music. They can be used where you might otherwise have a guitarist or keyboardist playing underneath whatever is going on in your service. Technically, Atmospheres are special multitracks provided in several keys that are designed to be played in any key, for any length of time, and offer a simple slider control to layer the elements. Atmospheres can switch keys on the fly, and fade into one another seamlessly, and be played with a simple long-press on the library menu. The Altar the Atmosphere app launched earlier this year with a collection of 9 Atmospheres to choose from (with more on the way) and all of the content can now be used in Worshipsong Band. You can buy the complete set of 9 at this link. Watch Atmospheres in action:
For version 3.1, we also now support new controls for the presentation screen and set list. A new external display menu can override the background video at anytime, allowing you to dynamically switch the background to match the Atmosphere or current song seamlessly. You can also use this menu to turn off the external display as needed, to allow other presentation software running on the same monitor to be displayed. These capabilities extend to networked remote controllers as well.
When running Worshipsong Band as a remote controller, it is now possible to add or delete songs to the set remotely. The library from the master machine is now displayed when acting as a remote controller. You can also fully control Atmospheres remotely, and play an unplanned song by loading it from a remote controller.
We have also addressed multiple new features and quality issues in version 3.1. Audio jumping is now seamless on all platforms, addressing a longstanding latency timing issue in the IOS version. Lyric display can now be at the top of the screen or centered. Chord chart positioning is now more precise, matching the text chord charts. We've made network connectivity more reliable, and improved the song importer in several ways. We've also added video playback capability into the MacOS version, making it as fully featured as the Windows version.
And finally, we've given our UI a bit of a needed facelift. Fonts are cleaner, elements look less dated, and overall navigation between the functions is more straightforward. We've designed a sharp new icon to go with the new version.
Many of the version 3.1 features have been added based on user requests, continuing our tradition of listening and responding to the needs of our worship leader user community. Worshipsong Band remains the most feature rich worship multi track platform available, and, of course, remains free, Our open format is the only dedicated 'user friendly' playback platform that does not require you to register, use our cloud, or buy your content from a single provider. Many users source their content from multiple sources, and even make many of their own tracks. And, of course, independent artists from around the world offer their tracks in the Worshipsong Store, most completely free. Worshipsong Band ensures a consistent playback experience for content from all sources.
Worshipsong Band received a Worship Leader Magazine Editor's Choice award for 2015, the second time it has been so honored. Download it free from www.worshipsong.com or the IOS App Store or Google Play today.
